Anapaya CONSOLE - Unified SCION Network Management

The Anapaya CONSOLE is a centralized, web-based platform designed to revolutionize how organizations visualize, manage, and monitor their SCION networks. As the central hub for managing Anapaya appliances, it simplifies deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operations. By providing an intuitive, graphical interface, the CONSOLE reduces manual configuration efforts and enhances the overall user experience for network administrators.

Anapaya CONSOLE Dashboard

The CONSOLE is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution hosted in the cloud and is currently free to use for all partners and their customers.

Key features​

  • Centralized Configuration: Provides a single, unified interface for configuring all Anapaya appliances (EDGE, CORE, GATE) within an organization. It abstracts appliance-specific settings, allowing administrators to manage organizational-level policies for IP-in-SCION tunneling, path filters, and SCION autonomous systems.

  • Network Visualization and Monitoring: Offers a graphical representation of the SCION network topology, enabling administrators to easily understand connections and data flows. The dashboard visualizes the network's operational state in real-time, highlighting issues like link failures or expiring certificates.

  • Dynamic Path Control: Includes a dynamic graph that visualizes the exact network paths selected by a path filter. This gives administrators clear insights into network resilience, path diversity, and end-to-end routing.

  • Simplified Operations and Alerting: Streamlines day-to-day network operations by leveraging telemetry data from managed appliances. Administrators can configure alerts via email or webhooks to integrate with existing incident management systems, ensuring a rapid response to network issues.

  • Software Lifecycle Management: Simplifies the process of keeping appliance software up to date. Administrators can view available updates, schedule installations for convenient times, and track the status of ongoing upgrades directly from the CONSOLE.

  • Secure, Multi-Tenant Architecture: Built with security at its core, the CONSOLE is a multi-tenant SaaS solution. It features a robust user and organization management system and allows organizations to enforce security policies like two-factor authentication (2FA).

Primary use​

The Anapaya CONSOLE serves as the central command center for any organization operating a SCION-based network. It provides a unified platform for managing the entire lifecycle of Anapaya appliances, from initial deployment to daily monitoring and maintenance.

  • For Enterprises: The CONSOLE provides a unified dashboard to manage fleets of Anapaya EDGE appliances. This simplifies the configuration and monitoring of highly reliable and secure site-to-site connections between offices, data centers, and multi-cloud environments.

  • For Network Service Providers (NSPs): The CONSOLE is essential for operating commercial SCION services. NSPs use the CONSOLE to configure and operate Anapaya CORE routers to provide robust SCION transit and access services to their customers, to manage Anapaya GATE deployments to seamlessly onboard customer IP traffic onto the SCION network.

  • For Managed Service Providers (MSPs): The CONSOLE is a powerful tool for MSPs to manage multiple customer organizations. It allows them to configure and monitor Anapaya appliances across different customer networks, providing a centralized view of all managed services.

User and organization management​

The CONSOLE is multi-tenant, with a clear structure built around organizations and users.

  • User management: Administrators can easily manage users within their organization, including adding new users, assigning roles, and removing access as needed.

  • Security policies: Organizations can enforce security policies for all members, such as requiring two-factor authentication (2FA). This ensures that only authorized users can access the organization's resources.

  • Organization relationships: Organizations can establish relationships with other organizations, allowing for shared management and visibility of resources. This is particularly useful for service providers managing multiple customer organizations.
