Anapaya appliance - Extreme 1130c

Welcome to the SCION world! This guide provides the initial connection steps to set up your Extreme 1130c device as an EDGE appliance.

Preparation

  1. Connect the power cord to the device.
  2. Connect a RJ45 cable to port 1 for Extreme hypervisor and Anapaya appliance management.
  3. Connect the RJ45 cable for WAN connectivity to port 2.
  4. Connect the RJ45 cable to LAN connectivity to port 3.
  5. Connect a serial cable to the Console port.
  6. Follow the Configure an applianc section in the latest Self-Orchestration Deployment Guide https://supportdocs.extremenetworks.com/support/documentation/extremecloud-edge-latest-documentation/ from Extreme to set it up as a stand-alone UCP in self-orchestration mode.
  7. After completing the setup with the Basic Configuration Wizard, connect to the WebUI of the UCP using your browser and the IP address assigned to data port 1 and login with the default or your customized credentials.

Installation of the Anapaya appliance image

  1. Download the latest Anapaya appliance Extreme VNF image tarball with the -extreme.tar suffix from Cloudsmith. Find the command at Extreme UCPs on Installation Guide
  2. Upload the image to the UCP device by navigating to the UCP web interface and selecting Engines Image Management > Choose Image file or Drag and drop image here.
  3. Install the Anapaya EDGE as an Engine Application by navigating to Engines > Installation -> Install
  4. Under Anapaya EDGE appliance select AnanpayaEDGE #1 and deploy with the default settings.
  5. After a few minutes, the installation should be completed, and you can log into the Anapaya EDGE appliance via serial console. Navigate to Engines > Installation -> engine-image-name (blue text font) and choose the Console tab.

Initial configuration

  1. Use the default credentials, user: anapaya and password: anapaya.
  2. Once logged in, you can set up the IP parameters as indicated by your support. For more information about initial configuration and IP address configuration, consult Setup.
  3. Interfaces might be assigned IP addresses via DHCP or cloud-init. As soon as interfaces are managed through the appliance configuration, DHCP is disabled and cloud-init-generated network configuration is removed.
